This question is for Mr. Van Keilegom relating specifically to his article, but I think it is relevant to both. When you talked about "developing" yourself through self study and vigilance, you make it sound very purposeful and deliberate. Was there a certain personality type you were aiming for, or was it strength and perseverence that you wanted to show those around you. Your new friends accepted you for who you were; it seems you developed new confidence, as well. Was this also part of your "developed" self? Where there any positive things in your life that inspired either of you to become who you are today despite being people who stutter?
