Hello! My name is Terry, and I am a SLP student at NYU...I found both your articles to be exceptionally encouraging and moving. The world around us can be so judgmental and harsh at times, often hindering ones ability to move above and beyond difficulties. Your stories are a testament to the greatness that a person can achieve if they believe in their own abilities, and their own personal potential. It is important to not let anything get in the way of those individual goals. From my experience, nothing is harder than overcoming a challenge when everyone around you is full of doubt and negativity. At times,You begin to feed in to that notion that perhaps you arent good enough to succeed in fulfilling your hopes or endeavors for the future, nothing is more hampering. Finding that strength and motivation deep with in ones self, to break through can therefore, be incredibly tough. Your abilities to rise over such situations, and overcome the difficulties of stuttering, in a world where it is often frowned upon, is ever so admirable. It sends a clear message that all the negativity in the world, wont matter, as much as that little voice in side oneself that says "I can do whatever my heart desires, if I just work hard, and be what I can be". It is my hope that anyone that struggles in life, can find and heed this inner voice, just as the both of you apparently have...
