It seems that the reactions of the terms "stutter" and "person who stutters" varies among individuals. When working with this population, do you suggest that clinicians address this issue in regards to treatment goals and objectives before therapy to help them achieve their annual goal, since this seems to be more of a self-esteem issue? Afterall, we as clinicians must take a holistic approach when considering an effective treatment and positive prognosis for the client.
