Hi Paul, Thank you so much for weighing in here! I completely agree with your analysis of evidence-based practice. It seems that in the areas of "political correctness," people don't want objective evidence, since the motivation is typically based on personal preferences of the speaker or listener. I haven't used the evidence-based practice argument relative to person-first terminology with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association before this paper, but maybe it will touch a nerve.
