Ken, Thanks for writing this article. I am familiar with your research in this area and I agree with your conclusions. I find that I get called on the mat by my students when I fail to use 'person first' terms. When I suggest that perhaps there is not sufficient research support behind that trend, their eyes open wide and it seems that they view my suggestion as pretty scandalous. I suggest to them that perhaps they can ask a client about their preferred reference relative to their disability. I think that this generation of students has been fairly well indoctrinated with the person-first movement, though. Keep up the good work in getting the word out! Thanks, Lynne
