Hello Keith, Thank you for sharing what happened to you--- peer support groups are important avenues for pws to share their life experiences whether its in New York or Peking. That's our share common bond. As to SLT's being involved---I believe the next decade we'll see more active participation in the world community by professionals. ASHA will have an international division of SLT's. Blogging and internet use will be more accessible for PWS to share information. However, there is nothing like one to one or one to five support. That's where peer support is invaluable---to help someone may it be a job interview or asking questions in school. And maybe that's why we are involved. I want to be there to help and listen. I feel its important for the self help movement to educate folks in how to communicate verbal and listening skills. Look forward to meeting u oneday in person. Michael
