Thank you Susan for your comments and real good questions. First off, the SCM is cyclical in nature. However, a person has to address each stage to move on. If a pws is experiencing relapse. He/she doesn't need to go to pre-contemplation. Hopefully, while in therapy therapist/client address relapse. So, the client is prepared to address relapse from a knowledge rather than surprise and state of being "mad and feeling as if he or she was a failure". I want to address adults and children working through scm. I feel adults have the cognitive skills to understand. However, children may not. I didn't read any studies using SCM for children. However, you can be the first for CWS! I think its really important to develop a trusting therapist/client relationship so if relapse occurrs for the child---he/she doesn't feel as if client "1. let u down" 2. feel like a failure 3. has no future good luck in your studies. The field of stuttering needs people like u! Kindly, Michael
