My name is Leor Samuels, I am currently a graduate student studying speech language pathology. I would like to say first off thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us. I am enrolled in a fluency disorders class and until now did not really know much about stuttering. I am finding the area very interesting and your article gave me a small glimpse of what a PWS may go through or has gone through. I think that your stages of change model is very practicle and hope to one day implement it into my practices when conducting therapy. In your personal change steps you speak about step 5 as the coming out stage and that it occured for you in college. I was wondering If to truely reach this stage you believe that one must be at a college age level where they are on thier own and facing the real world by themseves for the first time? Have you seen others reach this stage as school age children? I was also curious if you believe that without the painful experiences you have had in the past, you wouldn`t have come as far as you have and had such strong motivation to seek help? Some beleieve that without adversity there is no strong will to succeed, was this the case with you? Thank you again for posting the article I really did learn alot and if your have any other literature which you have written and can refer me to I would very much appreciate it.
