Leor, Thank you for your thoughtful questions: I can only speak for myself regarding "coming out". However, I can share with u what others have told me. For me, I was out of the house and dealing with issues. Either I continue to stay covert and undercover and suffer or choose to "let go" and begin to reveal myself. I think we all examine ourselves in College. Maybe later for some. But, we are not at home with our parents and with friend we talk about "what behaviors our Parents did and what we do not want to do." Other pws have spoken about how they created themselves during their college years. I think its a time in all of our lives that explore "who we are". I think for myself the painful expereinces. Somehow I knew deep in my "gut" I had to talk about it. Those experiences made me who I was. I don't know whether its strength or motivation to reach my goals I had set for myself. I chose the later. I don't know whether I am a strong person or not due to my stuttering? Regarding children: I do know about children. I feel the slp and parents have more control over the environment. I think there are more options for children and parents such as attending NSA or Friends Conferences to meet other children or teens that stutter. Regarding materials: check out judy's stutteringhomepage.com there's a wealth of material. thank yoiu again and good luck in this endeavor. Its worth the journey, Michael
