Thank you, Michael, for this wonderful essay. I am now pursuing my Masters in Social Work degree. You are one of the people whose example helped me understand that I could be a stutterer and still be in a career like social work, where so much talking is required. In my studies I have read the work of Prochaska and DiClemente, and also thought of how their ideas can be incorporated into dealing with stuttering.
