Mr. Sugarman, I am a graduate SLP Student at Kean University in NJ. I found your article to be extremely insightful. In each of my classes we have discussed various treatment and therapy techniques, sometimes however, I find myself all caught up in the details and forget to look at the entire picture. The universal model you describe puts these treatment goals into perspective and provides an excellent foundation from which to approach therapy. I think that this model is not only useful for stuttering therapy, but it is certainly applicable to many other therapies as well. Thank you.
