I really enjoyed this article; I thought the parallels between organic gardening and good speech therapy was incredibly interesting. I particularly enjoyed the "speech buddy" in the school system. Would you recommend the speech buddy be someone that the child is more familiar with, a closer friend let's say, in order to reduce anxiety as opposed to someone less familiar to him/her? Or would you rotate the speech buddy? I must say that having the child talk about stuttering, using strategies/techniques, and encouraging him/her to do projects built around stuttering is uniquely important. It allows the student to feel comfortable with himself, and offers the opportunity to others in the class to learn something. It almost takes the uneasiness out, in order to build more healthy relationships and friendships. Thanks for the article!
