I really enjoyed your article. I am a graduate student here at UW-Stevens Point, and I am in my first fluency class. The gardening analogy is one that will stay in my mind while growing in the major. Saying that every person is different, and needs different "soil" to grow in, and different aspects of care to prosper, really made me think. This is a great approach to use in fluency clients, but I believe it can be used in any type of therapy! The best statement, I believe, was about how different plants need different care. Sometimes they need all the fertilizer, water, and sun they can get, while others need you to leave them be. I also enjoyed the part about weeds. Everyone has weeds in their life, and must not let them get in the way of their goals. Thank you for sharing such a great analogy!
