Mr. Abbott, I can't put into words how much I enjoyed your article. I personally am not a stutterer, but my father is. He has had many struggles in his life as a result of his stuttering, but has also found the will power to overcome them and to live a comfortable life with his stuttering. Your poetry just really put what my dad has gone through in perspective for me. Even though I am studying to be a speech-language pathologist, I will never know what it is really like to stutter, but I have seen the affects it has had on my father. He used to make the family order his meals for him when we went to dinner and he would never be caught talking on the phone. But now, as it says in one of your poems...he will say what he has to say, not matter how much he may struggle. He accepts the fact now that he is a stutterer and will always be. He has also come to understand that what you say is more important than HOW you say it. I only wish that his childhood could have been more positive for him, but his stuttering made his youth quite difficult. So thank you for your article and your poetry. I plan on sharing your information with my father, and I know he will enjoy it also. Thanks for your time.

Sincerely, Rhonda R. Williams
