I do on occasion read them at support group meetings. I think that I have read maybe five of 33 that I've written. most of the time, what with the amount of people that we have at our group meetings, there just isn't the time. Also, a lot of people aren't into poetry, and I don't like to impose. And then you have those who hear what they want to hear, and are compelled to make some negative comment. I wrote one about a child who stutterer's, only it's written from the viewpoint of his/her parent. It's called "A Family Thing." Of course the six year old wouldn't get it, but perhaps his/her parent(s) might like to read it. I can e-mail you a copy, if you'd like to check it out. I think it's one of my best.
