Beside's the therapy that I received up untill junior high school (prehistoric therapy, I might add) the only other therapy that I had was that which led me down the road to being the "recovering" stutterer that I am today. It was at Beaumont hospital in Royal Oak, MI , under Dr, Richard Merson. Dr. Merson did not cure me of course, but he gave me some valuable tool's. Then I came to realize that my stuttering was not nearly as severe as I had always thought it to be. From there, I began to read up on stuttering, which lead me to, for lack of a better word, do some serious self "head shrinkin'. We (Dr. Merson and I) then started the Beaumont Stuttering Center Support Group (the NSA's Royal Oak Chapter) and the rest is history. There were many steps along the way to "recovering", along the way to finding that "golden key." Which, when you think about it, only makes sense; seeing as stuttering is such a complex disorder, it would make sense that the path to self acceptance would be complicated as well. Thanks for your comment and your question.
