Dear Patti, As far as I know, Gilles de la Tourette is a neurologic disorder, probably due to dysfunctioning of the motor system and the limbic system, that is responsable for emotions. Could is be possible that the aneurism the child suffered, has caused brain damage to these systems? How was the child before the accident? If your hypothesis is correct, than you culd have a child with "acquired" Tourette. But we must be very careful in our diagnosis, especially at distance. You might be the best person to answer the questions. You might find help in contacting the Gilles de la Tourette association in your country. In France, Belgium and Holland, those associations exist, give lectures, have films and give information about the disorder. As to your quesion about psychomotoric exercises, they present exercises that combine body movements and thinking: for example: throw the ball GENTLY over the line; throw the ball AS HARD AS YOU CAN over the line; keep the ball smoothly in your hand. Run over the green line, walk slowly over the green line, walk as you want over the green line... I think the exercises you do with the painting and the fridge are very good. And the way you communicate with the child the same.. I hope you get more insights.... I hope to hear from you.
