Dear Sharon, As a matter of fact, the treatment of acquired stuttering is rather the same as a classcal treatment of developmental stuttering: soft onset, slow speech, no time pressures etc. When you treat an adult, the cognitive part is probably more important, as you can easily discuss the matters with him.
