We found the use of the analogy of the hippo very appropriate for children who stutter. We believe that children who stutter who read such a book can understand that others have similar experiences. By approaching the topic of stuttering in such a manner, it provides children with the opportunity to express their similar concerns and feelings. We also found it to be very true that "People are afraid to change even if it is a good change." We had never thought about it before, however people in general just do not like change whether it be good or bad.
