I did not realize that stutterers face so many fearful factors in speaking on the telephone. I knew that stutterers may have been scared to answer the phone or may be hesistant on what to say to the other side. I did not know that stutterers were even afraid of just picking up and holding the receiver. This information is good to know in order to become an effective therapist in fluency disorders and planning efficient treatment for usage of the telephone.
