Dear Sally, I agree with Judy about second graders. I am working with my youngest student who is in second grade now. We have just approached journal writing. He is very enthusiastic about letting me fill in the page. He also loves to draw, so he is illustrating our first entry. I let him fill in his name, date, and place. Then I take over. My daughter started keeping a journal in school in second grade. She met Judy in third grade and began writing about her speech at that time. Now (She is in sixth grade) it's a routine she thrives on. Jackie
