I did have therapy...
Firstly, let me say that I believe in therapy with all my heart. I think it has come a long way since the mid-60's when I was involved. Therapy available today seems to be thoughtful, understanding, and thorough - most of all, it gets results.
Alas, the therapy I recall receiving in the Cleveland Public School System did more to erode my self-esteem than improve it. Once again, however, that was then and this is now. Being a Human Resource professional, however, I do not doubt that the same bell curve of performance applies to the therapy community that applies to any work force or professional group - about 70% are average, 15% are simply outstanding, and 15% are simply poor.
