Delia,

Last night Jack Welch, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of General Electric, was on the televison.

I called my wife to verify that he indeed was stuttering. My wife is the authority on everything in our household. :-) Maybe the universe. :-) She said, "Yes, he does stutter almost on every sentence."

So much for the people who count the frequency of stuttering instead of focusing on a) the struggle forcing and secondary aspects of stuttering as well as keeping the speech moving (which all can be minimized by Stuttering Modification) and b) the self sabotaging and energy sucking :-) feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, inferiority, inadequacy, guilt, anxiety, urgency, and shame (which all can be minimized by REBT).

Welch was talking about acquisition by GE, with revenues of $200 billion dollars, of Honeywell with revenues of $40 billion per year.

Here is a good example of what can be accomplished by a stutterer with ambition and who has worked through his self-defeating feelings and steadily decreasing the struggle associated with his disfluencies (that are still there).
