Hi, Ivy;

Thanks for your good comments and questions! You ask about financial assistance to help people attend the annual conventions. It is my understanding that the NSA is often able to provide help that might include waiving registration fees and helping people find roomates so that the hotel fees are more affordable. This is certainly also true of Friends: The Association of Young People Who Stutter. These organizations are very interested in helping people participate in events.

I would call the NSA office at 1-800-364-1677 or email them at nsastutter@aol.com. They will certainly let you know what kind of assistance might be available for the June 2001 convention. They will also have information about other workshops taking place around the country during the coming year.

To contact Friends for similar information, call Lee at 516-499-7504 or lcaggiano@aol.com. You can also contact John at 650-355-0215, jtahlbach@aol.com.

Thanks for your interest in helping people access these wonderful organizations!
