Theresa, I'm glad you liked the article! To answer your questions:1) The need to use FIGs "throughout their lives" is dependent upon the type of stuttering syndrome. Someone with the Chronic Stuttering Syndrome will most likely learn to use the FIGs for fluency control as needed throughout life. 2) YES! I use "Speech Buddies" and Speech Parties with all my children in therapy. Good Luck!
