I truly enjoyed reading your article. The personal insight into stuttering that you offered is very helpful and enlightening. I work with various ages of children. At this time I have two children who stutter in the 4th grade, a 7th grade boy who stutters, and a 10th grade girl. I must admit, the younger students do seem more willing to try techniques suggested during therapy. I'm tremendously interested in your suggestions about real-life situations. Do you have any ideas to share on how to get teen-age kids over the stigma of #1) stuttering in public on purpose and #2) being seen in public with a speech therapist! I do have a good rapport with my kids in the school setting. I help them with oral reports, etc., that they have to give. When I have suggested being in the room with them for the presentation, however, it's usuallly greeted with a "NO WAY". (Except for the 10th grade girl). Any help on dealing with the feelings of those teenagers would be appreciated. Thanks much! Thanks again for the article. Mary
