I am a graduate student majoring in Communication Disorders and I am glad to see that your fist encounter with a speech language pathologist (SLP) did not sour your view of SLP's. As you learned from your experience at NMSU supportive, caring and skilled SLP's can have a positive affect on the life of an individiual with a speech/communication impairment. The emphasis that was placed on carryover outside of the clinic setting was benefical in improving your fluency in various situations. If possible could you provide additional advice to SLP's and student SLP's, from a clients perspective,on effective ways to improve carryover outside of the clinic.
