Mr. childers I really enjoyed reading your story about your personal experience with stuttering. My heart was deeply saddened in some parts of your story where you were treated rather rudely because of your stuttering. I feel the advice that you gave to student SLP's or future SLP's was very helpful. I know now that maybe what most people need who stutters is a good support system. Thanks to your story, it has really influenced me not to just be a clinician in the clinincal setting, but be a supporter and clinician outside of the clinic. I never knew the extent to how rude people can be to people who stutter, or those who just have communication difficulties. I am sorry for all the things you had to go through because of your stuttering. I am glad that you are content and at peace with your problem. I'm sure you are a better speaker than you were before. I feel that it was that company's lost for not hiring you. I wish you nothing but the best out of life. I hope that I can someday be an inspiration to my client's as your clinicians were to you. That is the student SLP's, not the one's before them. The one's before them were totally unprofessional in my eyes. Thank you for sharing your story and I am sure it will inspire some other student SLP's the same way it inspired me.
