The information for my family tree was collected from many sources. My older cousin worked in England for a time, and was able to search old church registries in his spare time. In Australia I have researched early shipping records electoral rolls etc. Of course as you have importantly noted that all this is to no avail if you do not have access to the specific details of each person’s characteristics. This I have done personally as far as possible by asking many many questions and recalling and recording my own observations. I can see you may have recognized the gene factor, and like myself you may have not made to many definite decisions on this so far and you may continue with your observations.
