I have just started working with a 17-year-old student who is asking for help for the first time. This is an unusual situation for me. She has lived with stuttering all her life, has clearly been deeply affected by it, and seems to want a "cure" now. Your paper has provided many great thoughts and suggestions for working with her. I wish I had a group for her - maybe in the future. Right now I'm looking forward to exploring her "vicious circle" and giving her the much needed support for all aspects of communication. Thank you!
