I am a recovering stutterer. As a young child I often had trouble talking to adults and my parents. I am now a Senior at USA in Mobile and I am living proof that finding the stuttering problem early can make a difference. Without early intervention and a combination of direct as well as indirect therapy I would not be able to control my stuttering as I can today. I only wish that more people would take these approaches seriously especially for young children who are beginning to speak with disfluencies. Thanks for a great article and good luck in the future with similar research.
