Amy,

How many of the children on your caseload stutter? This will be an important consideration in your decision making process. If there is only one child (or perhaps two) you might want to set up a schedule of meetings with that one parent. These might be telephone consulations or communications via a journal of some sort. You can send home monitoring tools and invite the parent to call you with questions, if the instructions are not clear. Send home audiotapes or videotapes (if that option is available) of a therapy session in which you introduce a skill or activity that you want the parent to use.

The most important concept, I think, is to be creative in your approach to serving the needs of children who stutter.
