Dear Dirk,

I am a 49-year-old stutterer who has just now started to accept my stuttering. Your paper was fantastic and has reaffirmed for me many of the things I have come to understand about myself.

I am currently starting a NSA Chapter in Idaho. The first one I think.

Question, I am a covert stutterer. When I attended the NSA Convention in Boston many people thought I was an SLP. I am concerned about my ability to be a good chapter leader because my fluency is not much of a problem any more. I don't feel good about stuttering on purpose. A speech Pathologist is going to help chair the chapter.

Any advice you can give will be appreciated.
