Hi Candice, Thanks for taking time to read the article and posting your question. Unfortunately, there is not enough data that would suggest that socioeconomic causes stuttering. What little research exists does indicate that individuals from an upper ses may exhibit more stuttering characteristics than individuals from other ses populations. One resource is Bloodstein (1995). We definitely need more research in this area.
