Hello Sharon,

Thanks for your words of appreciation. I'm not sure if the UK is the first and foremost organisation to survey people who stutter, because The Stuttering Information Centre in Denmark have done some fairly extensive survey's as well, as has the information centre in the Netherlands. But I can say that the UK has the most comprehensive practical information for both employers and people who stammer. It will be up on the BSA site on Tuesday 23 October if things go to plan.

It is too early to say if our work during the past year has improved the employment rate of people who stutter, because the project is being launched on Monday. But there are encouraging signs. Besides, how does one measure that sort of thing comprehensively? One option might be to set up a specific project in partnership with the Government's Employment Service.

Regards,

Andrew
