Hello Cristel,

Thanks for your commendation of the BSA employment campaign. It's an uphil struggle in teaching people that stammering does not detract from a person's abilities and skills. It certainly can affect the efectiveness of those skills and abilities if the person is less than secure in themselves or embarrassed about their stammering. Let's face it, many people are at one time or another, and there is much that individual people who stammer can do to enable themselves to come from a position of strength - in a whole variety of ways. But, identifying the source and character of the problems is character-building. Of course this applies to people without any sort of disability or impediment as well, and a part of our campaign is to educate more employers to the need to set aside their own embarrassment and blind spots, however much they profess to 360 degree moral vision! This applies to us all, I think.

Regards,

Andrew
