Ed Conture's new book arrived in my office today. In it there is a short section on ADHD (p. 351-352). I found the suggestion fascinating that we need to know more about the parents of children who stutter in terms of their potential diagnosed or undiagnosed ADD/ADHD and how their communication style, if it involves impulsivity including frequent interruptions, may exacerbate their child's stuttering without the parents' knowledge or control over it. In your experience with children with ADD/ADHD, have you noticed this type of communication style in any of the parents which may indicate possible ADD/ADHD in them?
