Thank you for a informative paper that I will use as a resource. My experience with Ritalin and other meds used to treat ADD is that if a child is at risk for developing stuttering or if they are stuttering, their disfluencies increase with these meds., conversely, when the meds are withheld (during the summer months for example), fluency significantly improves. Has there been research on the effects of these meds on at risk children or on children who are confirmed stutterers? Thank you.
