Sorry about not responding to your post. Dr. Reid had indicated to me that he would respond but I know that he has been ill so he probably didn't get a chance to post a response. Our interest in this topic came from the many calls I have received from clinicians asking for help. There is very little information about children who stutter and who have ADHD so Dr. Reid and I thought we would put our heads together and see if we could provide some direction on this topic for the field. We have provided some suggestions for dealing with these kinds of children but are asking for feedback from those who work with these types of cases. I do not know of any data related to the incidence or prevelance of stuttering and ADHD except for the survey data I cited in the paper. I agree that collaboration is the best approach with these children and I think it is essential that a team approach be used. The classroom teacher and SLP must work together along with the parents, paraeducatiors, resources teachers, etc. Everyone who comes in contact with these children needs to manage the behavior and the fluency problem in a similar way. That's why a team approach is best.
