I think that it makes sense to address the dissociative symptoms in therapy by using treatment techniques that have been used with other disorders that have a dissociative component. My question is, how well does a therapist have to know the dissociative symptoms of the client? Also, is there any reliable way to find out what those particular symptoms are? I was thinking that perhaps a particular treatment might be more successful with clients who have specific dissociative symptoms.
