As Steve, Bernie and Jim have well-noted, so much of the results of a good support meeting is just plain luck. Sorta like that old Scotch analogy. "All Scotch is good. Just that some is better than others." Topics are the same. Some are more interesting than others, but they're all valuable.

I've found that so much of the success of a meeting relates directly to the desire of the members to make it a successful evening. People tend to show up because (a) they want to, (b) they're seeking support and an opportunity to talk and share with friends who understand them, and (c) they know they'll leave enriched and have grown a little bit that evening for going. People who DON'T want these things, simply don't come. Bottom line: a motivated crowd looks forward to any chicken tossed their way. We've always seem to walk away into the evening darkness after each meeting and the first words out of our mouths are a mutual "good meeting tonight."

I think Lee and Russ have found the core of the success of the NSA connection: Listening, sharing and coming together to celebrate our common bond -- stuttering. So I don't care what chicken they toss in to the middle of us 'gators, as long as it stutters!!
