Russ, thanks not only for your normally insight responses, but thanks for your earlier support to get this issue to the forefront with the Boston workshop! You were an important coach for all of us to push this lurking topic on to the stage -- and we NEEDED to be pushed!

For those unable to participate in the Boston workshop, it definitely would be beneficial to repeat it in Anaheim. I'm sure there are others with similar experiences and feelings who could do a wonderful job contributing in the same forum. I also think, as you suggested, we could spawn off other workshops, particularly, perhaps one geared toward educating SLPs into the nuances and traits of a covert stutterer that might not be easily recognized by a SLP treating a patient. Even more so, families and parents could benefit from a workshop which explains many of the interiorized feelings and "tricks" of a young covert stutterer which would educate them <and probably shock them!> into understanding their child's "iceberg." These types of workshops would be excellent opportunities to prevent a lifetime of fear and agony if a covert stutterer can be mentored earlier in life to confront their fears and pursue acceptance of their stuttering with the goal of pursuing open, milder stuttering techniques.

Again, Russ thanks, as always, for your contribution and devotion.

Chris
