In my stuttering class, we recently had a discussion of sorts on the intrinsic features of stuttering. I am not, nor have I ever been a stutterer, nevertheless, I have a friend who once was a stutterer. I also at times find myself being dysfluent, attempting to say things faster than my articulators will allow. Nevertheless, I sympathize. I am certain that the guilt you carried and your fear of stuttering did in fact, scare you to death, possibly helped to perpetuate your stuttering. I commend you on the ability to stand up for yourself and face your fears because that is one of the first steps to attempting to correct the problem.
