I am a graduate student in speech language pathology and am currently taking a class in fluency disorders. We have learned that the intrensic features of stuttering, such as guilt, shame, fear,and suffering cause the problem to be more severe. Since you were a covert stutterer for many years what is your opinoin of severity? In general,did you feel your stuttering was more severe then someone who was an overt stutterer?
