Hello, Lisa! I am glad to hear that you have become fascinated with word-final dysfluencies. During the time that you were unaware of their occurrence, you were certainly not alone.

Your question has crossed my mind, also. I exchanged a few e-mails with a father who said that his son often repeated a vowel and the following consonant, at the ends of words. So, if one allows anecdotal evidence, three boys have been reported with this particular pattern, to our knowledge. The pattern has not yet been documented in adults, as far as we know. I have wondered whether there may be some remission of this dysfluency pattern by adulthood. Additional case reports, especially longitudinal case studies, could help us to sort out these questions.
