Dear Judith,

it is with pleasure today that I can inform you about what the China acitvities will be for ISAD 2000. It is not much, but I think still meaningful.

1) We will start to distribute the translated book by Eelco de Geus "Sometimes I just stutter", first edition 500 copies and a leaflet called "5 questions about stuttering" which are translation by 5 SFA leaflets.

2) We will have an article in Beijing Evening Post which is a daily newspaper with around 800.000 readers. The journalist is afraid mentioning the book and the leaflet for fear that we will have too many inquiries. But I urged her to mention it.

3) This morning I went to China Central Television, which has a programme called "The way to Health". I spoke with the head of the programme, and as result it is likely that we will have a programme in December featuring various aspects of stuttering life with visits in work places and schools in case people agree to that. It is not yet 100% fixed but I am optimistic.

I am particularly thankful to you that via Ms Chen Zhiyan the Chinese fellow Chen chao was introduced to me. He played an active role in translating the book and wrote a touching foreword, which builds the bridge from the Dutch author to the Chinese readers.

All the best from China

Stefan Hoffmann
