I teach the fluency class at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and have a class of 26 budding speech-language pathologists who have been actively participating in International Stuttering Awareness Day. We wll have a variety of activities: 1. Two informational booths on campus 2. A feature of "HEALTHWISE", a production of the health sciences center with the president of the medical center making the introduction and an interview with me, one of the parents who is bringing her child to therapy and the child. 3. Flyers, brochures, and a green knot to wear to acknowledge the "knotted tongue" that many people who stutter report typifies their speech. 4. Radio interviews 5. Newspaper interviews 6. The first meeting of the Lubbock Stuttering Support Group.
