I guess I have no confirmatory answer to your queries, but let me make some comments. It should be noted that there is very little research that is aimed at de terming efficacy issues related to treatment in children who stutter. So either mode of therapy should work..after all therapy doesn't hurt!! I think your approach is appropriate and if u feel it right to introduce some direct intervention, it should do good. As u have some started on direct intervention with the parents, it would be easy for you to direct your activities towards directly working with the child speech.
