Thank you for your comments. To my knowledge, the use of art therapy with individuals who stutter has not been formally researched at this point. The subjective observations seem to point to an increase in the quality of therapeutic relationship in that the individual is seen and understood in a highly effective and poignant way by using the nonverbal-visual expression. This expression seems (by self-report) to impact both the individual and therapist.
