Thanks for the comment, Penny. Parents have begun to understand the depth and intensity of their child's experience of stuttering. Far too many, parents and professionals still believe that children are not aware of stuttering and themselves. THAT is unbelievable!

But a word of caution too: Sharing in therapy of whatever material, words, drawings etc, is a delicate material, often deserving status of secrecy. As a paying of respect to the young client I always, with no exceptions, ask permission from the young client to show the drawing to the parent(s). A "no" is a "no".
